Directions for getting there
Godley Head is most easily accessed by private transport but it is possible to reach it by bus to Sumner and then following public walkways to Taylors Mistake and then crossing to the southern end of the beach to reach the Godley Head Walkway.

By Road.  Click on View on Google Maps in the image below for a more detail.  At present Evans Pass Rd is closed from the Lyttelton side and a portion of the Summit Rd to the west of Evans Pass is also closed on account of rockfall danger.  The only way to reach Godley Head by road is via Sumner, taking Evans Pass Rd until it intersects with the Summit Rd and then turning hard left to drive out to Godley Head.  Please note, this is a windy and narrow road and you need to be alert for cyclists.
